I have built some Plastic Soldier Company German trucks recently, which are now labouring in the work in progress queue to be finished. The kits come three in a box with Opel Blitz, Mercedes or Maultier options. This leaves you with various spare cabs and other bits. Not quite enough to make a full extra truck but plenty of scraps to make some more wrecks to scatter around the place or use as wrecks when things actually do get blown up. I like the idea of having enough wrecked vehicle models to replace working ones with their destroyed counterparts. Anyway this is my Frankenstein’s truck made up from various bits and pieces and mounted onto a rubble strewn base of MDF. I used some sponge for chipping effects and lots of dirt and dust. I think some smokey effects with black cotton wool might also add to the flavour.
cool idea; nicely executed too.

That is a really good idea, Will, and it’s come out very well indeed! 🙂

Very nice- It is a good use of spare bits.

Aren’t wrecks great for table top clutter. Someone needs to a range of 3D printed versions.

Nicely done, Sir! I did manage to squeeze more trucks out of the 15mm box, by having a total disregard for any sort of accuracy in the tyre department 🙂 . Will of Will’s Wargames Blog managed the same with the 1/72 models, But I like the wreck.
Regards, Chris.

yeah i took the easy option of having enough energy to throw scraps together. you did a good job squeezing extra working vehicles out of the box! its always good to repurpose spares and i know all my early crappy paint jobs will end up being wrecks. I am itching to get a hot knife out and cause some serious damage to something.
